About this piece: I’m afraid I’ll drop my credit cards down one of those hissing vents near the big windows in modern offices.
I’d be trying to pull something out of my wallet and loose control of the credit cards
and they’d fall from my hands
and get sucked into the vent
and I’d hear them tinging and pinging away down the duct
and I’d run along the window after them
but they would race behind a wall
with a shut, locked door.
